Best Role Model, Is No Role Model.

Is it bad to have a role model? No, but would it be better to make yourself your own hero? Yes.

As Whitney sang, “And so I learned to depend on me, I decided long ago never to walk in anyone's shadow. If I fail, If I succeed, at least I’ll live as I believe”

Those lyrics are not only my motivation but a reason I love that song dearly to my core. She sang the cover of “The Greatest Love Of All” spreading the message of the importance to never look for guidance for everything in others. Instead, we should look to ourselves and make a path for our own life.

Also, as Charles Bukowski once said:

“invent yourself and then reinvent yourself,
don’t swim in the same slough.
invent yourself and then reinvent yourself and
stay out of the clutches of mediocrity.

invent yourself and then reinvent yourself,
change your tone and shape so often that they can never categorize you.

reinvigorate yourself and
accept what is
but only on the terms that you have invented
and reinvented.

be self-taught.

and reinvent your life because you must;
it is your life and
its history
and the present
belong only to
you.”

Also, like the great poet Rumi once said:

“Don’t be satisfied with stories, how things have gone with others. Unfold your own myth.”
